As a long-standing member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA), we are committed to sustainable forestry and responsible forest management. Our hardwood products are not only durable but are also recognized as a renewable resource. As such, they contribute to eco-friendly kitchen design and help us minimize our environmental footprint.

John Boos & Co. recycles 95% of all raw materials generated during production. Our waste and surplus wood are used as a sustainable fuel to heat our kilns. The sawdust is used as bedding for livestock by our local agricultural partners.

As the oldest manufacturer of its kind in the United States, John Boos & Co. is synonymous with the highest quality, food safety, and environmental protection. Our artisans work with great respect and care using natural materials, and we use only renewable, sustainably sourced hardwoods from North America, including maple, black walnut, and American cherry.
