Since 1887, our high-quality wooden cutting boards, butcher blocks, etc. have been crafted by skilled artisans in Effingham, Illinois, using time-tested techniques from premium, sustainably harvested North American hardwood.

Our hardwood products are recognized as sustainable and renewable, contributing to eco-effective kitchen design while minimizing our environmental impact.

John Boos & Co. recycles 95 % of all raw materials generated during pro-duction. Our scrap and excess wood are used as sustainable fuel to heat our kilns. The sawdust is used as livestock bedding for our local agricultural partners.

As the oldest manufacturer of its kind in the USA, John Boos & Co. embraces its responsibility to lead in quality, food safety, and environmental stewardship. Our craftsmen respect the natural materials they use, sourcing renewable and sustainable hardwoods from North America.
