Inspired by the original Boos® butcher blocks, these rustic-design cutting boards are made from a single solid piece of North American hardwood and is as close to nature as you can get. No two boards are alike. Each board in this collection has natural variations in grain and color patterns and may vary slightly in size and weight. You can even count the age rings within the rich tones of the wood grain.
Each Boos® 1887 board is kiln-dried and crafted at the John Boos factory in Effingham, IL from premium quality renewable and sustainable harvested North American Hardwoods. The smooth solid surface of each board makes for a great food prep surface or an elegant serving board. Each board is full of character and sure to be an eye-catcher in your kitchen.

The Boos® 1887 Collection celebrates the company’s rich tradition of quality and craftsmanship, which all began in Effingham, IL. in 1887. Still today each hardwood product is made here from start to finish by passionate and skilled craftsmen using time-honored techniques. With special attention to sustainability, the factory has a 25% lower carbon footprint with 25% less material waste in the manufacture of solid one-piece cutting boards in the Boos® 1887 Collection.

Solid Wood Cutting Boards in Natural Rustic Design
Introduced initially as a limited edition for our 125-year anniversary, the Boos® 1887 cutting boards are now one of our most coveted collections. The design appeal is not only that it is made from one solid piece of beautiful North American hardwood with natural variances in grain density, patterns, and color, but the rough sawed edges, or what we call rustic-edge design, that accentuate the naturalness and robustness of the hardwood.
Available in North American Hard Maple, Black Walnut and Cherry wood, each Boos® 1887 board is durable and captivates with its natural beauty and character.
Care Tips for Your Boos® 1887 Cutting Boards
The solid wood cutting boards from the Boos® 1887 Collection are finished with the Boos Blocks® Cream Finish with beeswax. Optimal care of the hardwood includes regular treatment with Boos Blocks® Mystery Oil and/or Board Cream. In addition, you should only HAND wash these cutting boards (NO DISHWASHER). As reversible cutting boards, you should turn them over regularly and use both sides.
With regular care and maintenance, your cutting board will remain a highlight in your kitchen for years and can even last a lifetime.
