Over 130 Years of Craftsmanship & Quality

Our production history begins with a block of maple wood that was crafted 130 years ago in the blacksmith’s shop of our company’s founder, Conrad Boos. The local butcher recognized the potential of this tool, and so the name “Boos Blocks” soon became the new standard of quality. Thanks to their durability and their ability to meet the highest food safety standards, Boos Blocks are still highly valued today in both professional and home kitchens.

Like the original Butcher Block, the cutting boards in the 1887 Collection are handcrafted from a single, solid piece of wood. Even in their smaller size, they offer the legendary durability of their traditional predecessor.

Exceptional quality and durability – cutting boards made from tried-and-true premium hardwood

We use only North American hardwood for our cutting boards. Thanks to its rustic, sturdy qualities, this material is the ideal choice for work surfaces: It protects your knives, has the perfect hardness, and offers hygienic benefits by inhibiting bacterial growth. This makes our products ideal for everyday use—whether in a gourmet restaurant or in your own kitchen at home.

Large, solid wood cutting boards with a natural look

The cutting boards in the 1887 Collection are characterized by their Rustic-Edge design, which results from the rough sawing of the edges. Each cutting board crafted from a single, solid piece of hard maple, black walnut, or American cherry, making it a unique piece of craftsmanship in your kitchen. Thanks to our strict selection of woods sourced from sustainably managed forests, we combine durability and quality with a commitment to the environment—for a product that is sustainable in every way.
